Annie’s Nails of the Month – Sept/October Edition

by Annie Por | 10 months ago

The first time I watched Disney Pixar’s Coco was when I was getting my nails done. I don’t know why, but I was never compelled to watch the movie myself. However, as soon as I started watching it, I was hooked! I didn’t get to finish the whole movie during my nail session, so as soon as I got home, I got on my Netflix account and finished the rest of the movie. For the next few weeks, I would listen to “Remember Me” on repeat and sing to it to my son Parker. If you haven’t heard the song yet, check it out here! But before you click the link, you may want to prepare some tissues for those tears you’ll be crying lol.

With that, I’d like to introduce my September/October nails of the month! In celebration of Coco and Halloween, I got myself some Coco inspired nails and went through my three step design process.

Step One: I googled “Disney Pixar Coco” and found some really cute images that I wanted to incorporate with the design. Not only did I want Miguel and some Coco characters, but I also wanted to make sure to include the dia de los muertos elements like the skull, flowers, and papel picado (perforated paper banners).

Step Two: Deciding on the color base for this set was pretty easy because I chose the colors from the Coco logo which was pink, blue, red and yellow. I also added black as the base so that the four colors would pop.

Step Three: I didn’t end up doing a rough sketch because I didn’t have time to fully flesh out my idea before I got to my nail appointment. I just winged it when I got there and the results were amazing. These are one of my favorite Halloween nails I’ve ever done. Check out some of the other Halloween nails I’ve done in the past! What should I do next month?! Let me know!
